Item: The problem with wanting to please everyone

Il problema di chi vuole piacere a tutti

The problem with wanting to please everyone

There was a time when everything started to look the same.

The same venues.
The same clothes.
The same images.
The same words.

As if taste had stopped being a personal choice
to become something to be collectively approved.

Today, many people don't truly choose what they like.
They choose what will be more easily accepted.

It's an aesthetic built not to disturb anyone.
Not to expose oneself too much.
Not to risk being understood by only a few.

But almost everything that truly endures
has gone through an initial moment of misunderstanding.

People with strong identities rarely please everyone immediately.
The same goes for objects.
For places.
For style.

The most interesting things often have details that divide.
Precise habits.
Silence.
Personality.

That's why today many images seem perfect
but almost none truly stick in the mind.

Because they were created to gain immediate approval,
not to leave a lasting impression.

And perhaps true contemporary luxury
isn't having something recognizable by everyone.

But having something that doesn't need
to be continuously approved to have value.
